you may want this!...
You might not even know it but the music you listen to every day probably comes from dub music. Or at least, most artists whose music you compile on your Ipod - is it rock like Bloc Party, pop like Gorillaz or electro like Coldcut - are widely inspired by it.
And the mere reason is that dub music creators – when they invented in the late 60s this sort of rearranged instrumental version of reggae music – have changed the rules. From then, musicians and engineers have been playing an equal part in musical creation : genius is not just coming from guitars anymore but also from the mixing desk. And all modern music (techno, hip hop, rock, drum’n’bass, new wave, house, electronica) was to change forever.
Strangely enough, one of the most important music from the 20th century second half is also one of the worst documented. Until today. Thanks to this very complete DVD covering the whole Dub story from Kingston in 1968 to London in the 80s and finally Angers, Berlin, Brussels, Lyon, Paris, Tokyo..
And you will immerge yourself into this dancing and mystical music through live scenes, thrilling interviews, an audio CD and other surprises…

With 19 bands : Zenzile, Improvisators Dub, Bush Chemists, Lee Scratch Perry, Mad Professor, High Tone, Disciples, Zion Train, Manasser & Natty P, Cultural Warriors, Weeding Dub, King Shiloh, Iration Steppas and Brain Damage.
